Lodging Hospitality serves the domestic U.S. lodging industry, which includes hotels, motels, motor inns, and resorts. LH covers site selection, operations, design and decor, financing, building, personnel, maintenance, computerization, merchandising and renovation. Editorial is targeted to executives and managers of properties with more than 50 rooms - the segment most often targeted by vendors. This editorial is produced by a staff with more years of experience in the hospitality press than other industry publications.
HVS Hotel Management is the division of HVS that performs all of the firm’s operations and related work in the United States. Doug Geoga, President and Chief Executive Officer of Salt Creek Hospitality, LLC

Doug Geoga is the CEO of Salt Creek Hospitality, LLC, a hospitality investment firm which began its activities in early 2010. The firm is sponsored by an affiliate of Soros Fund Management and has offices in suburban Chicago and New York. In addition, Doug serves as a strategic advisor to the private equity consortium of Centerbridge, Paulson and Blackstone which is seeking to acquire Extended Stay Hotels from its pending bankruptcy proceeding, and as a principal of Geoga Group, LLC , which is a family owned investment firm.
From 1983 until 2006, Doug held various positions with the Pritzker Family including serving as president of Hyatt Corporation from 1994 – 2000, president of the Hospitality Investment Fund, LLC, a Pritzker-family sponsored hospitality investment firm, from 2000 – 2002, and as president of the then newly formed Global Hyatt Corporation from 2002 – 2006.
Doug has been active over the years in industry activities. He presently serves as a member of the investment committee of the AH&LA Foundation and, among other things, has previously served as a trustee of the Educational Institute of the AH&LA and as chairman of the AH&LA’s Government Affairs Committee. He also is a member of The Hospitality Business Real Estate & Development Advisory Council of The School of Hospitality Business of Michigan State University. Outside the hospitality industry, Doug has also served on numerous private and public boards including his present service as a director of Unitrin Inc. (UTR:NYSE) and chairman of its investment committee, and as an elected trustee of the Village of Hinsdale, IL where he is chairman of the committee overseeing the village’s budget. Doug graduated from Harvard College in 1977 and Harvard Law School in 1980.

Prior to founding SHC LLC in 1997, Mr. Geller was Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Geller & Co., a gaming, tourism and lodging advisory company he founded in 1989. Geller & Co. specialized in major hotel, corporate and real estate development, financing and structuring on an international scope. Previously, Mr. Geller held positions as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Hyatt Development Corporation, Senior Vice President of Holiday Inns, Inc. and Director of Grand Metropolitan Hotels in London.
Mr. Geller is a former Vice Chairman of the Commercial and Retail Council of the Urban Land Institute and the immediate past Chairman of the Industry Real Estate Financing Advisory Council of the American Hotel and Motel Association. Mr. Geller also sits on the board of Children’s Memorial Hospital and serves as a member of its finance committee and facilities sub-committee. Mr. Geller is Co-Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Churchill Centre and Ambassador for North America for the Hotel and Catering Institutional Management Association of the U.K. Mr. Geller is a graduate of Ealing Technical College’s school of hotel management and catering. Mr. Geller has over 40 years of experience in the lodging industry and has received numerous awards for his service to the lodging industry.
